The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas is set to host a new TV show this Autumn, which will see normal members of the public go up against some of the world’s top poker players. ‘The Real Deal’ will give the audience and those on the stage the chance to play with and against the pros using wireless touch-screen devises.
Audience members will try to earn points which can be exchanged for prizes, from The Real Deal merchandise, all the way up to a $1 million grand prize.
The pros playing at the Vegas Casino include a number of the biggest names in the game, including Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth. Together the pros have accumulated over $48 million in poker prize money.
One of the pros, Doyle Brunson, commented: “Poker fans have been able to view and enjoy professional poker action for years on television. This is different. Everyone in the audience can be in the game and compete with the pros and other guests. It is a one-of-a-kind-poker experience.”
The inspiration behind The Real Deal, Merv Adelson, said: “Never before has poker been so integrated with entertainment,” “The popularity of poker is unquestioned, as is the viability of live game show experiences in Las Vegas. The Real Deal! will keep guests laughing and give them the unique chance to get into the heads of the world’s best pros as they share tips and strategy throughout the fast-paced game. We know it will quickly become a hot ticket.”
The Venetian Showroom in Las Vegas will be hosting the shows at 4pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
